RECIPE: SPECIAL CHATPATTI CHANAY DI DAAL

Whether summer or winter, it is always a good time to cook lentils for dinner, lentils are good for your health, and conducive if you are on a vegetarian diet and they are easy to store and cheap to buy so serve this tasty side dish as often as you like!!


Ingredients

  • Gram lentil 200 gm (soaked for 1 hour) 
  • Onion 2 (chopped) 
  • Ginger 2 tbsp (chopped) 
  • Garlic 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp 
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ½ tsp 
  • Salt 1 tsp 
  • All spice powder ½ tsp 
  • Oil ½ cup 
  • Tomatoes 2 (finely chopped)
  • Green chillies 3 (slit length wise)


















Cooking Directions

  1. Take a pot, heat oil.
  2. Add chopped onions, fry till light golden. 
  3. Now add ginger and garlic, cook for 1 minute.
  4. Then add chilli powder, coriander, turmeric and tomatoes.
  5. Fry for 10 minutes till oil comes on top. 
  6. Add soaked lentil, salt and 2 cups water,covered let it boil and cook on low flame for 20 minutes.
  7. Before serving add ½ tsp all spice powder, green chillies and chopped coriander leaves.
